DARKSTONE PLAYER FORUM
HELP & CODE OF CONDUCT

FORUM HELP

Most of the forum features should be fairly self-explanatory. To change your forum password, you must use the in-game 'forum_password' command. Note that this implies that the only way to post on the forum is to have an in-game account. Your character list is taken from your account.

Here is a list of forum codes that may be used in your posts:

What you type: What you get:
hello hello
hello hello
Hello
Quote:

Hello
Hello
Quoting Ksilyan:

Hello
this   is  code
this is code
\[code\]hello\[/code\]
hello
Note that you may nest codes, e.g.
hello --> hello

CODE OF CONDUCT

Usage of the forums is restricted to players who have an account and at least one character on Legends of the Darkstone.

Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would want them to treat you.

Rule of Thumb: Don't say or do anything offensive or harmful to anyone else.

All forum users are responsible for knowing the information contained in the CoC.

Prohibited Forum behaviors include, but are not limited to, the following:

 1. Use of profanity, vulgarity, or explicit sexual or violent content
 2. Use of racial, ethnic, sexist, or religious slurs
 3. Promotion or engagement in illegal activities (e.g., drugs, drug paraphernalia, computer hacking, copyright violations, rape, or solicitation of a minor...)
 4. Impersonation of another person
 5. Harassment of another person or persons (e.g., flaming, trolling, personal attacks...)
 6. Spamming through repeated posts or off topic content (e.g., scrolling, flooding, polling, or repeated bumping...)
 7. Advertising a business or commercial site
 8. Attempts to reregister a banned screen name or variation thereof
 9. Participating in trade scams (e.g., soliciting account or personal information)

Disciplinary Procedures:

 1. The first three times an individual violates the Code of Conduct, the offensive post will be edited or deleted by a moderator, and a warning will be sent to the offending party via email.
 2. Repeated violations will be met by more severe punishment, such as temporary suspension of posting privileges, loss of screen name, or account deactivation.
 3. Past offenders who are operating under a new screen name or account may not be given a full three warnings before more severe punishments are enacted.
 4. In all matters, the decisions of the moderators are final.
 5. Formal protests may be sent to darkstone-imms@betterbox.net.  If there is sufficient evidence that a moderator is abusing his powers, he may be removed.  DO NOT send multiple protests regarding a single incident, and do not expect a reversal of a moderator's decisions even after his removal.

Please note that your behavior on the forum may have in-game consequences. In extraordinary cases of abuse, the staff may decide to delete a player's account, hell or delete a player's characters.
